our mission is to offer gratitude to people in our community who make a difference every day
inspiration
When Sage Fuhrman was in seventh grade, she had her Bat Mitzvah. In preparation for the ritual, she was responsible for developing a “mitzvah project,” basically doing a good deed. She decided to bake sugar cookies and deliver them unexpectedly to family, friends, and people who made her community a better place every day because of the work they did (policemen, firemen, EMS workers, and teachers). These ‘random acts of sweetness’ brought so much joy - more than she ever could have imagined. It was so gratifying to be able to make someone's day with such a simple offering. While she fulfilled her mitzvah project requirement, the fantastic responses she got inspired her to continue.
journey
In 2018, as a freshman in high school, Sage started the Mitzvah Club to promote the platform of doing good deeds and to inspire others to join in and do the same. The Club made and delivered a variety of treats, but one emerged as a fan favorite. Crackers smothered in homemade toffee and chocolate, then topped with decadence. People could not stop raving about them and asking for more. They were addictive. This made her think... she decided she could brand the crackers, sell them, and use the profits to support the endeavor to bring the sweet addiction to more and more deserving people. And with that, Sweet Krackerz was born.
the journey continues
Today, both the Mitzvah Club and Sweet Krackerz are still going strong. While Sage has left for college, Sage’s sister, Ginger, has taken over and expanded the Club to other neighboring high schools. It’s so rewarding knowing the original idea is enduring and Sweet Krackerz continues to deliver random acts of sweetness for those who do so much for the community.
